H&R Block® Users
You can import tax data from your Raymond James brokerage accounts directly into the H&R Block® program. Tax data imports include the information from Forms 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-OID and 1099-R. Downloading your tax data into the software assists you in automating the process of having to determine which information needs to be entered into specific fields in the H&R Block® software.
To use the service, simply follow the steps outlined below by choosing Raymond James & Associates, Inc. or Raymond James Bank from the Financial Institution drop-down menu in H&R Block®, then enter the account number and document identification number printed on your composite Form 1099 statement as directed. This “key” provides access to your 1099 tax forms.
Please note: Form 1099-MISC must be entered in manually. Please refer to your 1099 package for more detailed information. It is extremely important that you verify information imported by H&R Block against your own records to ensure accurate and complete reporting of all required tax information.
If you haven’t already done so, you will need to install and open your H&R Block® program (any current version of the software). You may also use H&R Block® online versions (available at http://www.hrblock.com/online-tax-filing/). Don’t forget to follow instructions to download recent updates to the program.
H&R Block® will walk you through the steps necessary to complete your tax return.
When you reach the “Income” section on your return, you will see various income types listed. Check the applicable boxes and click next. The following screens will allow you to import the specific form types selected.
A window will appear where you can enter a brokerage firm that offer downloads. Select Raymond James & Associates Inc. or Raymond James Bank from the list and proceed.
For authentication purposes you will be prompted to enter your Account Number and the Document ID provided on your tax statement.
Once imported, the H&R Block® program will automatically report the information in the appropriate sections of your federal income tax return. However, it is important for you to verify the imported information against your own records to ensure accurate and complete reporting of all required tax information.
